'Rape them first, then commit suicide'; Kerala BJP candidate's vile remark courts controversy

THODUPUZHA: A Kerala social media influencer courted controversy for his vile remarks while talking about the suicide of Kozhikode native Deepak. Ajay Unni, the BJP candidate from the 5th ward of Thodupuzha Municipality, opined that women making false sexual charges against men should be raped.

“If anyone witnesses such women filming videos for social media views, rape them first and then commit suicide. There is no need to die like a coward. You may end up in jail, but can keep your heads high and earn a living from there,” said Ajay Unni.

Meanwhile, the police are in the process of arresting Shimjita Mustafa, who shared the video related to Deepak's death. Efforts are underway to retrieve information from her Instagram account with the help of the cyber police. A case has been registered against the woman for abetment to suicide on the complaint of Deepak's mother.
