KANNUR: Crucial details emerged in Deepak’s suicide after the private bus staff confirmed receiving no complaints from passengers about inconvenience on the day of the incident. The bus staff also said that the CCTV footage on the bus did not show anything resembling sexual misconduct. The woman filmed the video from 'Al-Ameen' bus, which operates on the Payyannur-Ramanthali route.

The police collected CCTV footage from the bus. The footage will be examined from the time Deepak and Shimjita Mustafa boarded the bus. The police will also record the statements of the bus staff. The entire footage posted by Shimjita on social media will be retrieved with the help of the cyber cell. It is learnt that the woman is currently abroad. Shimjitha shifts between Dubai and Kerala for work.

Police said that the two videos she shared on social media were edited. Shimjitha had gone into hiding after the case was registered. The police registered a case against the woman on the complaint from Deepak’s mother. Following Deepak's death, the family had filed a complaint against the woman with the Chief Minister and the Kozhikode City Police Commissioner. The police registered a case after recording the woman's statement.
