THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The locals got panicked seeing red marks on the pillars outside the house. The marks were seen on the side roads of Nemom. CCTV footage showed a group of people with masks painting red marks on the pillars. The locals got scared and informed the police.

A police team reached the spot and examined the marks. Suspecting that the thieves had marked the place for theft, the police directed the locals to be alert. As the locals became concerned, the two who painted red appeared before the Nemom police.

They told police that they were working in a private internet company's fiber network and that the houses were marked to provide a new connection. They explained that they had marked it with spray paint and that was why they had covered their faces. The police immediately informed the locals about this. This led to the end of the locals’ concerns.

There have been reports of thefts by pasting stickers outside houses to mark the location. Such incidents have also caused concern amongst the people.
