Red rashes on students' bodies at govt school in Malappuram; 57 students confirmed to have contracted disease

MALAPPURAM: A chickenpox outbreak has been reported at Athavanad Government High School in Malappuram. 57 children have been confirmed to have contracted the disease. The LP and UP sections of the school will remain closed for one week as a precautionary measure.

High school classes will continue under strict health department protocols. The health department instructed that children with fever or any other symptoms should remain at home. It also directed that all students, teachers, and parents coming to the school must wear masks.
