KOZHIKODE: Kerala Students Union president Aloshious Xavier denied allegations of KSU members attacking Minister Veena George at Kannur railway station on Wednesday. Aloshious challenged CPM to show any images or videos of KSU members attacking the minister. In a sardonic remark, Aloshious said what happened in Kannur was minister Veena George re-enacting the performance that years ago won her best mono act prize while studying in Mount Bethany Higher Secondary School in Mylapra.

Aloshious asked authorities to release CCTV visuals from the railway station and opined that it was the minister who shouted abuse at KSU workers while being blanketed by police. Aloshious said that the injury mark on the minister’s hand was visible even in visuals of an event that took place two days ago.

“Kerala's health sector is through a serious crisis. A commoner who enters the hospital with any illness will have to suffer. A patient with an injured hand is made to undergo eye surgery. Those who come with minor illnesses go through the same fate and come out as corpses. This is the pathetic state of Kerala’s health sector now,” said Aloshious.
