Relief for Malayalis; Supplyco announces major cut in coconut oil prices

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In a move to control the steady rise in coconut oil prices over the past few months, Supplyco has announced relief measures for consumers. Supplyco has declared a major price reduction for its Sabari subsidised coconut oil. Consumers can now purchase Sabari subsidised coconut oil at Rs 289 per litre. The Food and Civil Supplies Department has issued an order in this regard.

Along with revising the prices of subsidised items, the government has also given approval to reduce the price of one-litre Sabari non-subsidised coconut oil sold through Supplyco. The price has been reduced from Rs 329 per litre to Rs 309 per litre. With this, the non-subsidised coconut oil will be cheaper by Rs 20 per litre.
