THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The court has granted anticipatory bail to MLA Rahul Mamkootathil in the second sexual assault case filed against him. The Thiruvananthapuram Principal Sessions Court considered the plea and allowed bail with conditions.

Rahul must appear before the investigation team every Monday, and he must not influence witnesses- these are among the conditions set by the court. The High Court had already prevented Rahul Mamkootathil's arrest in the first case against him. The second case was registered while the hearing in the first case was still underway. The police registered the case based on an email complaint received by the KPCC.

The complainant has given her statement in the case. SP Poonkuzhali recorded her statement. According to her testimony, Rahul raped her even after she cried and begged him to leave her alone. She also said she had been threatened several times and did not reveal anything earlier out of fear.
