KOLLAM: Before the waves of controversy following the singing of a revolutionary song during a festival program at the Kadakkal temple has subsided, there is another controversy over a concert in Kollam. A complaint has been raised that the RSS Gana Geetham was sung during a festival at the Manjippuzha Sree Bhagavathy Bhadrakali temple in Kottukkal. Kottukkal native Prathin has filed a complaint with the police in this regard. This is a temple under the Travancore Devaswom Board. Akhil Sasi, vice president of the temple advisory committee, has also filed a complaint against the installation of RSS flagpoles in the temple premises.
The concert (ganamela) was held yesterday in conjunction with the temple festival. The members of the music troupe explained that they sang the Ganageetham on the demand of the people. The concert was sponsored by a group called Team Chhatrapati from Kottukkal. The concert troupe authorities also say that the group had already suggested that they sing this song. The group had requested that the troupe sing two songs related to the RSS. However, the concert troupe replied that they did not know one of them. The program was presented by a music troupe called Nagercoil Birds.
