PATHANAMTHITTA: Murari Babu, the second accused in the Sabarimala gold theft case and a Devaswom Board official, was remanded for four days in custody. The action follows the order of the Ranni court. The Special Investigation Team transferred Murari Babu to the Crime Branch office in Thiruvananthapuram.

The SIT (Special Investigation Team) will question Murari Babu in detail, along with Unnikrishnan Potty, the main accused in the case. In its custody application, the SIT informed the court that it is necessary to find out the conspiracy between Murari Babu and the other accused and whether they had any shady financial dealings with Unnikrishnan Potty.

As Unnikrishnan Potty's custody period is set to end on the 30th of this month, there is a possibility that both he and Murari Babu will be taken together to various places for evidence collection. The SIT also clarified that legal action will be taken against the Devaswom Board officials who have not provided documents related to the case. The investigation team aims to collect maximum evidence before the custody period ends, the officials said.
