PATHANAMTHITTA: The national strike being staged by joint trade unions against the central government's labour policies is progressing. Passengers were affected after KSRTC in the state stopped services after expressing solidarity with the strike. Meanwhile, a picture of a KSRTC driver driving a bus wearing a helmet is going viral on social media.

Driver Shibu of the bus going from Pathanamthitta to Kollam is seen driving the vehicle wearing a helmet. Shibu drove the bus wearing helmet out of fear of being attacked by the protestors. The bus was stopped by the protestors in Adoor. The people were stranded in many places after the KSRTC buses that were ready to operate were blocked.

The general strike began at midnight yesterday. The strike is also strong in West Bengal. Although the ruling party in Kerala is supporting the strike, KSRTC has announced dies non, a loss of pay and service benefits for the day. Employees who do not report to work today will not get their salaries. Following the strike, universities like Calicut, MG, and Kerala have postponed all the exams that were scheduled to be conducted today.
