THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The person who subdued Suresh Kumar, who was arrested in the case of pushing Palode native Sreekutty (19) from a train in Varkala, has been found. The police have found Bihar native Shankar Paswan, the main witness and rescuer in the case. Shankar is also the one who saved Sreekutty's friend Archana from the accused. The police have recorded his statement.

The accused kicked Sreekutty out of the general compartment door on the 2nd of this month for questioning him about smoking while travelling in the Kerala Express. He had also tried to push her friend Archana, who was with her. Hearing Archana's noise, a man wearing a red shirt came to the rescue first. After saving Archana, he also subdued the accused. This rescuer was not seen by anyone on the train later. The police had then advertised for the person who had subdued the accused. He has been found now.

Suresh Kumar was taken to Kottayam railway station yesterday for evidence collection. Suresh boarded the Kerala Express from Kottayam railway station on the day of the incident. The accused narrated the incidents to the police without any hesitation. Evidence was collected today at the bar where he had gone to drink before boarding the train.
