THIRUVANATHAPURAM: "Didn't you read the Kerala Kaumudi report? This is a proud moment as the world came to know the investigative excellence of the Kerala Police. Let us stand up and congratulate ADGP Vijayan, the man who made the world aware of the adeptness of Kerala Police." When Police Chief Ravada Chandrasekhar said this, ADGPs and district police chiefs stood up and paid tribute to P Vijayan with thundering applause.

The Police Chief mentioned the 'Kerala Kaumudi' report about the book 'India's Money Heist'(Chelembra bank robbery case led by P. Vijayan) being selected as a textbook topic in six American universities, including Harvard. Ravada’s mentioning of the report came during a high-level meeting held at the police headquarters the other day to review crimes in the state.

The DGP praised Vijayan's investigative skills as unique and rare, which the world is now aware of. Considering it as a very proud achievement for the force, the DGP requested that all officials give a standing ovation to the hero of the day. ADGPs S. Sreejith, H. Venkatesh, IGs S. Shyamsunder, P. Prakash, DIG S. Ajitha Begum, and district police chiefs attended the meeting.

A book written by Bengali writer Anirban Bhattacharya about the investigation into the 2007 robbery of 80 kg of gold and Rs 25 lakh from the South Malabar Gramin Bank has been made a reference book by American universities. It is a reference topic for police science and criminology students at Stanford, Cornell, Pennsylvania, Syracuse and Texas universities.
