THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A lawyer of the Supreme Court filed a complaint against nun Tina Jose alias advocate Mary Treesa P J for her death threats against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The complaint of Subhash Chandran K R, a lawyer of the apex court, given to state DGP said a case should be taken against the nun for her hate campaigns on Facebook. Meantime, the police have registered a case against her for her threats.
Tina Jose made the threatening comment under a Facebook post by Selton L D'Souza about Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's campaign for the local body elections from tomorrow. 'Someone should hurl a bomb at him at that time. This world that destroyed a good man like Rajiv Gandhi, will be able to do that,' her comment said.
However, the CMC nun community responded that Tina Jose was expelled in 2009 and that since then she has no legal permission or right to wear the holy attire. What Tina Jose does is entirely her decision and responsibility. The spokesperson said in a press release that the CMC nun community has no role in it.
Minister V Sivankutty had also criticized her remarks as an insult to a civilized society. Tina Jose is a staunch campaigner of the political party Twenty20. The minister also demanded that Twenty20 clarify how a person who calls for murder can continue to be a propagandist of a popular movement.
