THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The owners and employees of driving schools celebrated the defeat of K B Ganesh Kumar. UDF candidate Jyothi Kumar Chamakkala defeated Ganesh Kumar in Pathanapuram constituency. His defeat was celebrated by making payasam and bursting crackers at the driving test ground in Muttathara, Thiruvananthapuram. The driving school owners organized the celebration, alleging that K B Ganesh Kumar had ruined their area when he was the transport minister and was not even ready to pay heed to their complaints.

The driving school owners and employees complained that Ganesh Kumar's agenda was to close down the institutions of the common people and that while the success rate of their children in the tests was decreasing, more people are passing in the centers as per the minister's wishes. The complaint is that despite the hype about automatic testing centers, cameras or microphones have not been working in many places for six months and that driving schools have to collect money even to clear the grasses on the ground. The criticism is that the owners tried to meet him in person several times but he refused.
