School management takes over responsibility for girl’s death in school

IDUKKI: The school management has taken over the responsibility for the death of a play school student after being run over by a school bus at Vazhathope near Cheruthoni in the district. The authorities told media that it was a tragic incident and the accident happened after the children ran through the way the bus enters. They said that two teachers and an ayah were present at the time of the accident and that no one has recovered from the shock of the accident.

The victim Hazel Ben, aged four and a student of Girijyothi Public School in Vazhathope died after being run over by a school bus Wednesday morning at 9 am. Ben’s friend Inaya Faizal sustained serious leg injuries. After getting off the bus, the two were walking towards the back of the bus to go to their classroom. Another bus that came hit the two and ran over them. The teachers and other bus drivers seeing the incident rushed the two to Idukki Medical College Hospital but the life of Hazel could not be saved.
