School students injured in Kasaragod road accident; Driver ends life by consuming acid

KASARAGOD: An Auto driver ended his life feeling remorse over his vehicle meeting with an accident, injuring school students. Anish (43), a native of Pallanchi in Kasaragod, died in the incident. The accident occurred on Tuesday evening when the car hit the rear of the auto-rickshaw.

The auto was going from Bethurpara to Pallanchi when a car that lost control hit the back of the auto. Three students were injured in the incident. The injured were Plus One students of Bethurpara Government Higher Secondary School.

Anish, who reached Pallanchi immediately after the accident, went to a deserted area and consumed acid. On learning about the incident, the locals first shifted Anish to a private hospital in Kasaragod and later to Mangalore, but his life could not be saved.

Anish leaves behind his wife Veena, and children Neeraj and Aarav. Anish is the son of the late K Shekharan Nair and C Kamalakshi.
