THIRUVALLA: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) has launched an extensive search to find the laptop of Rahul Mamkootathil MLA. The SIT believes that some crucial information will be in his laptop. The SIT conducted the search at Rahul's house in Nellimukal, Adoor, to find his laptop. The team was in the house for only ten minutes. Rahul was not taken for the search. The team searched his room and no electronic devices were found in the search.

Rahul was taken to the Club Seven Hotel in Thiruvalla for collecting evidence. The SIT reached the hotel this morning. They searched room number 408 where Rahul and the woman stayed. The evidence collection lasted for hours. Rahul, who initially refused to cooperate with the investigation, later admitted of having come to the hotel. Rahul told the team that he had come to the hotel to talk to the woman. However, Rahul did not respond to the survivor's complaint of sexual abuse.

Meantime, the special investigation team has decided to record the survivor's confidential statement in the third rape case against Rahul. The survivor's statement needs to be recorded including in the court. The investigation team has decided to record the survivor's statement, who is presently abroad, through the Indian Embassy or via video conference. The high court's permission will be sought for this on Monday. SP Poonguzhali spoke to the survivor on the phone yesterday.
