Sexual assault complaint: No anticipatory bail for Kakkanad IT firm owner

KOCHI: The High Court rejected the anticipatory bail plea of ​​IT firm owner Venu Gopalakrishnan, a native of Kakkanad, in the case of sexual assault against an employee. Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas assessed that there is prima facie evidence in the allegations. The charges against the petitioner include rape.

The court clarified that anticipatory bail cannot be granted since the allegations, including harassment at the workplace, have been levelled against the firm owner. Jacob P. Thampi, AB Paul and independent director Bimalraj Haridas, employees of the same firm, were granted anticipatory bail. There is no sexual assault complaint against them. The Kakkanad Infopark police registered a case on the complaint of the employee. Venu is the owner of an IT company called Litmus 7.

Venu had earlier filed a complaint alleging that the complainant and her husband were trying to extort Rs 30 crore from him by honey trapping him.
