Sexually assaulted minor girl on pretext of marriage, boyfriend and female accomplices arrested

PARASSALA: Parassala police have arrested five persons for sexually assaulting a school girl on pretext of marriage. They met the girl through Instagram. Ernakulam Kalady natives Ajin Sam, Akhilesh Sabu, Jithin Varghese, Poornima Dinesh and Sruthi Siddharth were taken into custody.

The boyfriend and his gang reached Kaliyakkavilai on April 17 at night and took the girl to a hotel in Neyyanttinkara and raped her. Then they returned her back to Kaliyakkavilai the next day. The girl got suspicious as the boyfriend’s phone was switched off and informed the police. The boyfriend and his four friends were arrested from Kalady based on a complaint filed by the girl’s parents.

A team from Parassala police station led by Inspector Azad Abdul Kalam including SI Saji CSS, ASI Mini, SCPO Sabu, CPO Sunil Kumar and Sajan arrested the accused. All the accused were produced in Neyyattinkara court and remanded.
