KOZHIKODE: Krishnapriya, wife of missing truck driver Arjun, requested the army to use modern equipment to carry forward the rescue operation. She expressed satisfaction with the rescue work in Shirur amidst the inclement weather.
'The soil on the banks of the river should be removed. I want to see the father of my child. At least I want to see him for one more time’ said Krishnapriya.
Meanwhile, Arjun’s mother Sheela responded to the media saying she had lost faith in the police and administration of Karnataka.
“We have lost hope in central government too. The army should have deployed with modern machines. We seriously expected Arjun to return akin to the miraculous tunnel escape in Uttarakhand. But now, all hopes have ended.
My father was an army veteran. We considered the army in high respect, but all those feelings have diminished after seeing the dismal work done in Shirur. The army was brought in without equipment and was made to act as clowns. I never thought about saying all this but..” said Sheela.
