THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The judicial magistrate court has ordered to subject the employees to a lie detector test in the missing case of gold from the Padmanabhaswamy temple. Six employees will be subjected to lie detector test. The important order was on the request filed by the Fort Police.
13 sovereigns of gold taken from the strong room to gold-plate the door of the sreekovil went missing. The police investigation found the gold covered in sand after days. The gold was found near the north nada, 30 meters away from the strong room. DCP Nakul Rajendra Deshmukh had said then that he suspected that it was abandoned in the mud when thinking of being caught.
The gold was found near the area where renovation work was being carried out inside the north nada. The rod was found lying between the security room where the gold was kept and the area where the maintenance was being carried out. Work was underway to replace the old gold plate on the front door of the shrine with a new one. When the work, which was temporarily suspended, was resumed, one of the gold rods were found missing. The police were informed. A detailed inspection and questioning, including using a metal detector, were conducted. Gold was found in the mud in between this. An inspection was conducted at the same place before that, but was not found then.
