Southern Railways' pooja gift to Malayalees; Weekly Express now extended to Kottayam

KOTTAYAM: The Chennai Central-Sengottai Weekly AC Express special train, earlier announced by the Southern Railway in connection with the Pooja holidays, was extended to Kottayam via Kottarakkara and Kollam, informed Kodikunnil Suresh, MP. The train, which used to end service at Sengottai, was extended to Kottayam after the MP raised the need for an extended service during the Pooja holidays.

The service, which starts from Chennai Central on Wednesday evening, will reach Kottayam the next morning. The train, which departs from Kottayam on Thursdays, will reach Chennai on Friday. There will be stops at Kottarakkara, Mavelikkara, Chengannur and Changanassery, informed Kodikunnil Suresh MP.
