PATHANAMTHITTA: Congress leader Sreenadevi Kunjamma has lodged a complaint against the third woman who filed a sexual assault complaint against Rahul Mamkootathil MLA. Sreenadevi, a Pathanamthitta district panchayat member, filed the complaint with the Chief Minister alleging that the woman filed a complaint using false content.
Earlier, the survivor in the Rahul Mamkootathil case had lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister, accusing Sreenadevi of cyber harassment. Following this, Sreenadevi also filed a complaint against the survivor.
On Tuesday, Sreenadevi came forward supporting Rahul Mamkootathil. In a Facebook Live, she said she stands with him in the sexual assault complaints and wished him the mental strength to face the crisis.
"The court should say that Rahul is guilty. Till then, we cannot judge that he is guilty. This is news that deserves attention, given that he is an MLA. However, while giving importance to it, reporters must take care that fake stories are not cooked up," Sreenadevi said.
In the Facebook Live, Sreenadevi also said that although she stands with the survivor, the complainant in the latest case is also a married woman. She added that when someone is in such a marital relationship and fails to protect the sanctity of the relationship, she finds it difficult to fully accept the allegations raised.
Earlier as well, when allegations were raised against Rahul Mamkootathil while she was in the CPI, Sreenadevi Kunjamma had made controversial remarks. At that time, she said there was an attempt to create imaginary victims in the Rahul Mamkootathil issue.
