THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A circular was issued prohibiting employees from bringing waste from their homes and throwing it in the waste bins of the Secretariat. The warning says that if caught, it will be considered a disciplinary violation, and action will be taken against the employees. The circular was issued by the Housekeeping department.

Food waste in bins may be leftovers of what the employees ate, but what about chopped vegetables found in the waste bins of the Secretariat?

The circular also recommends that waste generated in the Secretariat, including food waste, should be sorted and deposited in the green, blue, and red buckets provided in the office.

It is reported that many people collect waste from outside and deposit it in the Secretariat premises in bags.
