VARKALA: Three people, including a nine-year-old boy, were bitten by a stray dog at Pullannikode junction in Varkala. The victims have been identified as Pullannikode natives Kashi (9), Lalithambika (62) and Beena (56). Shamsir (19), a student from Pullannikode, was also attacked by the dog, but he managed to drive it away using his bag and escaped unharmed.

The dog first attacked Kashi, the nine-year-old son of Jason, a native of Pullannikode. The child was walking along the roadside when the dog suddenly charged at him, knocked him down, and bit him severely. He sustained a serious injury to his leg.

CCTV footage from the area captured the horrifying scenes. After attacking the child, the dog went on to bite other passersby. Lalithambika was bitten on her leg, leaving her with exposed tissue. Beena sustained deep wounds on her neck, legs, and hands.

All three victims were admitted to Parippally Medical College Hospital, where hospital authorities confirmed that their injuries are serious. According to locals, stray dog attacks have been increasing in the area over the past few months. As a result, locals are increasingly calling on the authorities to take immediate and decisive action.
