KOCHI: Tantri Kantarar Rajeev was caught in a tight spot after he signed the Mahasar prepared on May 18, 2019, to hand over the gold-plated Kattilapalli (door frame) to Unnikrishnan Potty. Kerala Kaumudi had reported on November 28, 2025, that this would be strong evidence.

This information is contained in the documents seized by the High Court and in the interim order. 474.9 grams of gold was lost from the door frame plates, which was incorrectly marked as 'Copper Plates'. The explanation given by the Tantri was that the only thing that was done was to convey the deity's permission for the repair.

The Mahasar of the door frames plates was signed by the Tantri, the then Melshanthi VN Vasudevan Namboothiri, Devaswom officials B Muraribabu, D Jayakumar, R Sankaranarayanan, K Sulinkumar, CR Bijumon, and employees S Jayakumar, PJ Rajish, and VM Kumar.

Potty took the door frame plates before the repair of the Dwarapalaka sculptures. Before that, he had earned credibility by renovating the Sreekovil door. The move to send the door frame plates began on February 16, 2019. The letter sent by the Sabarimala Executive Officer in this regard to the Devaswom Commissioner mentioned 'gold-plated plates'. In the recommendation given to the Devaswom Commissioner Board, it changed to 'copper' and a decision was taken accordingly on March 20. It was sent to Chennai in May.
