Summer rains lash Kerala; orange alert issued for two districts for next three hours

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Summer rains have intensified in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts in the state. An orange alert has been issued for these districts for the next three hours. There is a chance of heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in isolated places, along with strong winds reaching speeds of up to 40 kmph.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) also said that isolated places in Alappuzha, Ernakulam and Thrissur may receive moderate rain with thunder and lightning and strong winds up to 40 kmph.
