MALAPPURAM: Muslim League leader PV Abdul Wahab MP courted controversy after he said women who were still supporting Rahul Mamkootathil MLA, who is facing serious sexual assault charges. While talking to the media, Wahab said the hounding of Rahul will ricochet as a blow for the ruling government.

“Complaints are coming from the sky. There is ambiguity about it. The government is supporting it. Despite all this, Rahul continues to receive massive support from women. Women are aware of the government's devious plan to bring up such complaints targeting a person, especially during the election period,” said PV Abdul Wahab MP.

Meanwhile, a war of words started in the Congress regarding the second sexual assault complaint against Rahul Mamkootathil MLA. Opposition leader VD Satheesan came forward, rejecting KPCC President Sunny Joseph's remark hinting at a conspiracy when he scoffed that the complaint was ‘well-drafted’.

Satheesan said there was no wrong if the complaint was well drafted or not, and he reminisced about having prepared several complaints during his time as a lawyer and as a public servant. Satheesan remarked that there was no wrong in the complainant seeking the help of a lawyer to file the complaint.

Sunny Joseph said that a legal brain was behind the complaint against Rahul. Sunny Joseph had also clarified that the complaint will have to be assessed as politically motivated.
