Teacher of MES Higher Secondary School found dead in flat

MANNARKKAD: A teacher was found dead Friday morning. He has been identified as Shibu Pillai, a teacher of MES Higher Secondary School in Mannarkkad. He is a native of Kattappana in Idukki.

He had been living in a rented room in the K K Complex, a flat in Chungam Center in Kumaramputhur for the past three years. He was found dead under the steps to the room on the second floor of the building at around 6:30 am today. He was staying alone. His family is in Idukki.

His colleagues said that he was seen till 9 pm last night. The cause of death is not clear. The police believe that he may have slipped and fallen and this would be the cause of his death. An investigation has been initiated. The body has been shifted to the Palakkad District Hospital for postmortem.
