Technological university gets Rs 735 crore budget

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The technological university will get a new central office near Vilapilshala. The government has allotted Rs 60 crore for the project. Rs 30 crore will be given for building engineering schools in the state. This comes from the RS 725 crore total budget allotted for Technological universities by the government. The finance committee chairman Dr. P K Biju presented the budget.

A Rs 3 crore will be used to increase the technological prowess among engineering students.KSRTC will also assist in yet another Rs 2 crore scheme to help students imbibe better driving skills from experts. The government will strive its work to make the state carbon neutral by teaming with local self-government departments, an additional Rs 1 crore for the project.

For excelling research centers, Rs 30 crore is allotted, and for the translational research center, another Rs 20 crore. The surveillance system for the proper conduct of exams will get a booster of Rs 10 crore for additional technical work. The twinning program with a foreign university will get another Rs 1 crore. The study for avoiding natural disasters will be allotted Rs 50 lakh.
