KOCHI: The Director General of Prosecution made serious remarks against the trial court and the judge in the actress attack case. The legal advice stated that the trial court judge, who was under suspicion in the memory card leak case, had no right to pass a verdict.
The legal advice also states that despite the submission of several serious evidence against Dileep, the court rejected all of it, showing clear bias. The judge behaved in a discriminatory manner. The court adopted a two-pronged approach to examining the evidence. The evidence against accused one to six was accepted, but when it came to Dileep, it was another case.
Dileep's lawyers, who were found to have conspired to destroy evidence, were allowed to continue. The legal advice also states that the remarks in the verdict speak volumes about the judge and the person's repertoire. The government will file an appeal within the next week.
The trial court acquitted Dileep, citing that the prosecution was unable to prove the conspiracy charge despite sentencing six accused, including Pulsar Suni, to 20 years in prison. However, the prosecution and the investigation team are of the view that they have strong evidence regarding the conspiracy in the case and can prove it in a higher court. The technical and legal errors in the verdict will be pointed out in the appeal.
