Tipper lorry rams bike waiting at Pravachambalam signal; Tragic accident claims lives of two teens

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Two youngsters were crushed to death in a freak road accident in Pravachambalam in Thiruvananthapuram on Thursday. Amal, a native of Vizhinjam, and Devi, a native of Alappuzha, tragically died in the accident. Both of them were friends.

As per reports, the bike on which the two were travelling was parked at the signal. The tipper lorry plying the same route is alleged to have lost control and rammed into the bike, crushing both of them to death.

Nemom police started an investigation into the accident, and the relatives of the victims have been informed.

Meanwhile, one person died in a car-minibus collision in Ranni, Pathanamthitta. Ten people were injured. The victim was a Karnataka native who was in the car. Both vehicles were ferrying Ayyappa devotees. The car carrying Karnataka natives returning from darshan lost control and hit a minibus carrying Tamil Nadu natives. The footage of this has been released. Those in the bus said that the accident was caused by the driver falling asleep.
