THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPM State Secretary M.V. Govindan stated that the Malayalam phrase "Kodichi patti" (a stray female dog) is misogynistic. He mentioned that he no longer uses this phrase, as it implies that a dog is bad and that a female dog is even worse. He emphasized the need to abandon such expressions. He also pointed out that considering white skin superior to black skin is a remnant of feudal decadence. Govindan made these remarks at Kurumathur in Kannur.

Earlier, Govindan had lashed out at Mathew Kuzhalnadan MLA after the Kerala High Court dismissed the demand for a vigilance investigation in the monthly quota case. He remarked that Kuzhalnadan’s allegations were like "a gun without bullets," and the High Court had outright rejected them in the correct sense. He further stated that yet another deliberate allegation created by the UDF, BJP, and the rainbow alliance to generate a smokescreen against the government, the Chief Minister, and his daughter had completely collapsed.
