Threatened by showing private intimate visuals, raped despite knowing pregnancy: FIR details brutality

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Serious allegations have been mentioned in the FIR against Rahul Mamkootathil MLA. The FIR says that she was brought to Thiruvananthapuram and Palakkad and raped, and then captured private intimate images after threatening her. The FIR said that she was raped even after knowing her pregnancy and brutally beat her when she resisted.

The MLA physically assaulted the complainant on March 4 in 2025 at her flat and forced her to have sex with him. On March 17, he threatened and shot her nude video. He later threatened and raped her by showing this video. On April 22, he raped her at her flat in Thrikannapuram. The allegations of raping her from May at her flat in Palakkad has been mentioned in the FIR.

The FIR was registered at the Valiyamala police station in Thiruvananthapuram. The case will be transferred to the Nemom police station. Raped her on the pretext of marriage, forced abortion, all these have been imposed against Rahul. Forced abortion is a crime punishable by 10 years in prison under Section 89 of the BNS. Rahul and his friend are also accused in the woman's complaint. The woman said the pills were delivered by Rahul's friend Joby Joseph.

When she mentioned the dangers of taking the medicine, Rahul insisted. He gave directions through video call. He hung up the phone after making sure she had taken the medicine. Went through a terrible situation after that. She bled for three days. The doctor scolded her when she finally went to him. The doctor also said that taking pills can put one’s life in danger.

The team led by Rural SP recorded the complainant's statement yesterday. It lasted for five and a half hours. The woman had given a twenty-page statement.
