Three medical students drown in Kannur while bathing in sea

KANNUR: Three medical students downed while bathing in the Payyambalam beach. The medical students have been identified as Afnan, Rehanuddin and Afraz, residents of Karnataka. The incident happened in the afternoon. A team of eleven checked in at the resort near the beach yesterday. Eight from the team came to the beach to bathe.

Afraz was the first to go for a bath. When he was swept away by the currents, two others went to rescue him. Soon, all three were swept away by the currents. With this, the others informed the fishermen and the locals. Following the information provided by them, the bodies of the three were found in a joint search conducted by the fire force and the police.
