KANNUR: A tiger that entered human habitat in Ayyankunnu, Kannur, fell into the trap set up by the forest department. The cage was set up by the forest department in Palathumkadavu. Locals expressed doubts that the trapped tiger was the same one that killed domestic cows in the region the other day.
The lives of the residents were in jeopardy for the past few days due to news of tiger entering the residential area. However, it was a relief that the tiger fell into a cage set up by the forest department at midnight. The tiger was immediately shifted to the wildlife sanctuary in Pulpally, Wayanad. Although locals had been raising concerns over tiger trespassing in the region, the forest department showed indifference and didn’t expedite any action.
