Two women killed in car-lorry collision in Walayar, three-year-old in critical condition

PALAKKAD: Two women were killed in a vehicle accident at Walayar in the district. The two dead have been identified as Malar and Lavanya of Tamil Nadu. Reports say the condition of two including Malar's three-year-old son injured in the accident, is critical. The accident happened around 6 am Sunday morning.

The car they were travelling in rammed into a parked lorry. There were seven in the car. Malar and Lavanya were sitting on the left side of the car. The accident occurred while they were returning from a music programme of children.

The three-year-old boy, who is in a critical condition, has been shifted to Coimbatore from a private hospital in Palakkad. The passengers were rescued by cutting open the car. The cause of the accident is not clear.
