Two women killed in Pala as speeding car carrying college students hit scooters

KOTTAYAM: Two people were killed in a collision between a car and a scooter in Pala. The two women dead are Jomol (35), wife of Sunil of Palakkuzhakunnel, Allapara, Pravithanam in Pala and Dhanya (38), wife of Santhosh of Melukavu, Nallamkuzhi. The accident happened Tuesday morning at around 9:30 am. The speeding car hit their two scooters and then stopped after striking a wall. Jomol's only daughter has been seriously injured in the accident. The child is undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Pala.

The passengers in the car were four students of a private B.Ed college in Pala. They were going to Ramapuram for B.Ed training. The scooter passengers were going to Pala

from Thodupuzha. Police said the person who drove the car has a driving license. Their medical examination will be conducted. The police confirmed that the car was speeding and cited this as the reason for the accident. The injured 12-year-old girl is a class 6 student of St Mary's School in Pala.
