
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Railways has announced four new trains for Kerala. Kerala will get three Amrit Bharat trains and one Guruvayur-Thrissur passenger. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who will arrive in Thiruvananthapuram next week, will flag off six new trains. Modi will flag off four trains allocated to Kerala and two trains to Tamil Nadu.
Kerala has been granted three Amrit Bharat trains, Thiruvananthapuram-Tambaram, Thiruvananthapuram-Hyderabad, and Nagercoil-Mangalore. Along with that, there is a Guruvayur-Thrissur passenger train. Tamil Nadu will get two Amrit Bharat trains, Nagercoil-Charlapally, and Coimbatore-Dhanbad.
The railways have also approved the electrification of the Shoranur-Nilambur route. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate 11 stations developed under the Amrit Bharat scheme. Kuttippuram, Changanassery and Shoranur stations in Kerala have been developed under the Amrit Bharat scheme. The Guruvayur-Thrissur passenger service will operate daily. It will depart from Guruvayur at 6.10 pm and reach Thrissur at 6.50 pm. It will depart from Thrissur at 8.10 pm and reach Guruvayur at 8.45 pm.
