ALAPPUZHA: Opposition leader V D Satheesan came to the fore reacting on the allegations of attack by KSU activists on Health Minister Veena George. He also criticized the CPM for its propaganda of turning a goat into a dog. Satheesan added that the Congress will continue to stage public protests. Satheesan made his stand clear at the press meet convened Thursday morning.
‘The CPM leaders, including the chief minister, are propagating lies. They are unleashing violence in the state. KSU workers did not go near the minister. The police worked hard to control Veena George. The injury on her hand was an old mark. What the minister said is a blatant lie. She has now become a figure of public ridicule. He criticized the CPM for its propaganda of turning a goat into a dog.
The false propaganda was started after consulting the Speaker. The Speaker shouldn’t have been part of the conspiracy. He lied saying that her neck was twisted. We are not scared of all this and will not go back. We will stage popular protests. Now they are trying to disrupt the Puthu Yuga Yatra after the three jathas staged by them were a failure.
Veena George is lying that she was attacked. CPM state secretary M V Govindan is also lying. Govindan is not fit to sit in that post. Govindan lied saying that she sustained a severe neck injury. A case should be filed against the party secretary for inciting violence. The Speaker has forgotten his post and became an old SFI activist. The CPM alleged that there was an attempt to kill the minister. The leaders responded that Veena George sustained injuries on the right side of her neck and that she could not move her neck. It is clear in the visuals that a person with a black cloth is coming to the right side of where the minister was standing,' said VD Satheesan.
