THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government is moving to hold a minority Sangamam after the Ayyappa Sangam. The plan is to hold it in Kochi by the middle of next month. The aim is to bring together minority groups, including Christians and Muslims. It is hoped that this will also help to break the opposition's campaign that the Ayyappa Sangamam is being held to appease the majority groups.
The Sangamam will be held under the leadership of the Minority Department under the name Vision 2031. KJ Maxi MLA will be in charge of the organization. Minority Welfare Minister Abdurahiman will supervise the Sangamam. The aim of the Sangamam is to make it clear that all sections are considered equally and that secular and progressive ideas are not being abandoned. With this, the Ayyappa Sangamam and the minority Sangamam will become an important step for the government during the election season.
Government sources say that the aim is to understand the needs of minority communities, discuss the challenges they face in the country and send a message that everyone is treated without discrimination.
Issues of minorities to be discussed
It is reported that 1500 people selected from the Christian and Muslim communities will be invited to the Sangamam. The aim is to provide a platform to discuss issues of minority communities. A decision will be made in the coming days regarding the venue and invitees. It is learnt that communication has begun with various community organizations and leaders.
