Kerala put on high alert after Red Fort car blast

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the wake of the terrifying blast in New Delhi, a high alert was declared in Kerala. DGP Ravada Chandrashekhar instructed the police to strengthen patrolling in crowded places. Major tourist spots and cities in the southern state are being monitored.

The ADGP in charge of law and order has been instructed to be vigilant at places of worship and where people gather, and to conduct checks at railway stations and bus stands. Inspections were conducted at railway stations, including Thiruvananthapuram, Kozhikode and Kannur, bus stands and the RMS of the Postal Department on Monday night. The inspection was led by bomb and dog squads. The inspection was conducted inside the railway stations and in the parking areas.
