THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Warning that the weather in seven districts of Kerala is likely to change in the next three hours. The Central Meteorological Department has issued an advisory stating that there is a possibility of moderate rainfall and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph at isolated places in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.
An earlier warning had been issued for isolated moderate rainfall and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 kmph in Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts. The Central Meteorological Department had also stated in its earlier warning that isolated light rainfall is also possible in Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki and Palakkad districts. A yellow alert had been issued for Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts.
The rains will continue in the coming days. A yellow alert has been issued for Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts tomorrow and for Kannur and Kasaragod districts the day after tomorrow. Authorities have warned that those living in areas prone to landslides, mudflows and flash floods should move to safer places as per the instructions of the authorities.
