TIRUR: The police have intensified a search for deputy tehsildar P B Chalib of taluk office and native of Tirur Mangattiri Pookaitha, who went missing. There are reports that Chalib had withdrawn Rs 10,000 from the ATM.
Chalib had called his wife in the morning and told her that he left home due to some mental disturbances and that would return. He is reported to be alone. His relatives had the other day lodged a missing complaint with the Tirur police.
Chalib left office Wednesday evening at 5.15 pm. He told his wife that he would reach home late. He later informed his wife through WhatsApp that there is a raid at Valanchery Irimbiliyam and that police and excise team are with him.
A complaint was filed after he did not reach home even at 11 pm. The phone switched off at 12.18 midnight was on for some time yesterday morning at 6.55 am. The mobile tower location of it was in Palayam area of Kozhikode. The phone was found switched off at night. The mobile tower location was in Udupi then.
‘A message was sent to Chalib saying that a missing complaint would be filed. He was online at that time. The phone was found switched off after seeing the message. The phone was on yesterday morning at 6.55 am yesterday and found switched off later. The phone was on at night and this morning,’ said one of his relatives.
