
PALAKKAD/ THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Extensive search for Rahul Mamkootathil, who went absconding after the sexual abuse victim's complaint in the harassment case. The Palakkad MLA has been missing since the woman approached the Chief Minister in person on Thursday and filed a complaint. The woman filed the complaint and handed over digital evidence while Rahul Mamkootathil was actively campaigning for the local body elections.
The investigation team that reached the MLA's flat collected information from the caretaker. The CCTV footage for a month also includes footage of the MLA's last visit to the flat. The investigation team also inspected the house of Rahul Mamkootathil's friend Feni Ninan in Adoor. The footage focused on Palakkad city since Rahul absconded is being examined.
CCTV footage from nine places is being investigated. The news about the complaint came out when the MLA was campaigning for the elections in Kannadi panchayat. Rahul Mamkootathil went into hiding after that. An application for anticipatory bail was also submitted through a lawyer. After completing the initial inspection of the flat, the investigation team reached the Crime Branch headquarters and met with the police officers of the district.
The police are trying to arrest Rahul Mamkootathil before his anticipatory bail plea is considered. A crucial investigation is underway for this. The police team collected CCTV footage based on the information provided by the woman. The search was conducted at Rahul Mamkootathil's flat in Kunnathurmedu.
