KANNUR: A tribal couple was killed in a wild elephant attack at Aralam Farm in Kannur. Velli and his wife Leela, who had gone to collect cashew nuts, were trampled to death by the wild elephant. The incident took place in Block 13 this evening. The wild elephant attack took place near the couple's house. This is also a place where elephants are seen regularly. The RRT team has reached the spot following the incident. The couple's bodies will be shifted to Pariyaram Medical College for postmortem. 11 people have been killed in wild elephant attacks here in the last six years.
