Erattupetta court granted bail to PC George after four days of remand after citing his health problems. PC George's lawyer had argued in the court that the evidence collection in the case was complete and that PC George was cooperating with the police investigation. The prosecution argued that the accused was a repeat offender and that there was a possibility of repeating the same if he was granted bail. PC George was granted bail with a strict condition that he should not repeat any hate speech.
PC George made anti-Muslim remarks during a channel discussion on January 5. The police registered a case based on a complaint by the Youth League Erattupetta Mandal Committee.
