Woman, baby missing from Thrissur found dead, bodies recovered from river

THRISSUR: A woman and her baby, who were missing from Kanjani yesterday, have been found dead. Their bodies were recovered from Kakkamad area in Palazhi. The two dead are Krishnapriya (24) of Manalur Anakad Kunnathully House and her daughter Poojitha (one-and-a-half years old). Krishnapriya’s identity card was obtained from the place.

Krishnapriya, who was an employee of a medical shop in Kanjani, left for her husband's house with her baby at 2 pm last afternoon. Her husband Akhil, a native of Anthikad Kallidavazhi lodged a complaint with the police as they did not reach home even at night.

People on morning stroll found the bodies of the two this morning. Her identity card was found in the bag found nearby. A police team led by Anthikad Police reached the spot and engaged in further proceedings. The body was brought to the shore with the help of the fire force.


A mother and daughter were found dead inside their house in Kannur yesterday. The incident happened near Kottali Kavu Post Office. They were identified as Sunanda V Shenoy (78) and daughter Deepa V Shenoy (44).
