KOTTAYAM: Vishruthan, husband of Bindu, who died after a building collapsed in Kottayam MCH, is apprehensive about going with legal measures in the case. Vishruthan, while talking with the media, expressed contentment in the government conducting a thorough investigation into his wife's death and the collapse of the building. However, he wished no one else to ever face what his family is going through now.
Vishruthan:
"The government has given us three guarantees. One is my daughter's treatment. Minister Vasavan, the Collector and the Superintendent of Kottayam Medical College Hospital came to our house yesterday. They also assured me that my son would be given a job. The minister said that the financial assistance will be announced after the cabinet meeting. The government has given us a promise.
Congress and BJP leaders too stood by my family. Chandy Oommen assured me of Rs five lakh assistance from the trust of the late Chief Minister Oommen Chandy to help us renovate the house. We are destitute. After my son got his first salary of Rs 10,000, it was I who asked him to hand over the money to Bindu. It would have been one of her most cherished moments, but alas.
She had some health issues but ignored all to work hard for the family. We don’t have any complaints and our priority now is to give proper treatment for my daughter. The whole family is now caught in mental trauma. My wife, during her life, had wished only good upon all. She was a person with a golden heart.”
