Youth Congress worker assaulted in Palakkad for criticising Shafi Parambil

PALAKKAD: It has been alleged that a Youth Congress worker was assaulted in Palakkad for criticising Shafi Parambil MP. Sreejith Babu, Youth Congress Mandalam Secretary of Nemmara in Palakkad, was assaulted by Congress workers for posting a note criticising Shafi Parambil and praising P Sarin on Facebook. Sreejith alleged that he was assaulted by party workers who support Shafi Parambil. He is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Nenmara.

The other day, Sreejith had shared a Facebook post supporting Sarin. He said that he later withdrew the post as per the directions of the leaders. Sreejith said that he had questioned the lack of democracy within the party on several occasions, but instead of addressing the issue, the party has been expelling those who criticize it.

"Shafi Parambil only supports and protects those who stand by him. I had previously complained about the lack of democracy within the party. Whatever the problem, Sarin always stands with those who face issues. However, Shafi Parambil only shields those loyal to him," Sreejith told media.
